RELEASED: Walk-on role on Beneath the Planet of the Apes

Beneath the Planet of the Apes, episode 10

My man Bill Hollweg has some issues when it comes to Planet of the Apes. He’s the kind of fan that writes fan fic to supplement the original story, and he couldn’t be more true to it if he were actually living in that universe. So when he asked me to be “Mutant Guard 1” I didn’t ask any details, I just said “Send me the script,” because I knew it would be well done.

If you’re interested at all, it’s worth going back through the archives to get the whole story. But if you’re on the fence, I think listening to this episode will satisfy you that it’s worth it to dig deeper.

In this episode: In Ape City Ursus has assembled his Gorilla Army for WAR with the MUTANTS… A discovery and it’s implications may well affect All futures and possibly ALL SIMIAN KIND!

It’s the bomb, as the kids said all those years ago.

RELEASED: 2109: Black Sun Rising, the prequel logs, episode 6

I actually don’t appear in this one, but I co-wrote it so I’m damn well going to link it. Besides, Joe Stofko has performed brilliantly as Fleet Admiral Veers, and you don’t want to miss this performance either.

SIDE NOTE: I had the pleasure of appearing with Joe in another BrokenSea/Bill Hollweg production – The Strange Fate Of Matthew Hornblower – that you’re going to want to check out if you missed it the first time I posted about it. Me with a New England accent is worth a chuckle any day of the week.

Episode 5 : Cursed to Live
Even with more food available than originally thought, reserves are tight and long hours on little food is taking it’s toll on the Azimov-1’s crew. When they started home, there was almost no chance of survival. Now there’s a chance, but it’s not a good one.

The Azimov 1 is hobbling home across the galaxy. Food reserves are waning. Tensions are high. It’s enough to put the closest of relationships to the test.

RELEASED: 2109: Black Sun Rising, the prequel logs, episode 3

This is the third of seven prequels for 2109 which I co-wrote and voice acted. I’m practically vibrating with anticipation — this is all build-up to episodes 4 & 5. 6 is the denouement and 7 is the epilogue. Then we’re ready for the real story [stories] to begin!

pssst! – rumor has it we may not have to wait a whole month for episode 4, so stay tuned!

How often do you get all-original pulp sci-fi with a high production value — for FREE! — that you can listen to on your commute? And three episodes in the can is a great place to jump in and then pucker up for next month. It’s a win all around!

Also, have a look at the previous episode postings if you want a look at the original script. Since there’s nothing to hide at this point, I figure I’ll post them and going forward I’ll keep posting them a month behind. You may have no use for them, but some people like the extra info, and it’ll give you a point of reference if I mumbled something too incoherently to figure out.

I get to captain a spaceship, this is gonna rock!

Episode 3: The Trip Begins Again
One gravity slingshot and an explosive push later, the crew of the Azimov 1 settles in for the long ride home. The VERY long ride home.

RELEASED: 2109: Black Sun Rising, the prequel logs, episode 2

This is the second of seven prequels for 2109 which I co-wrote and voice acted, and it’s all I can do to not share them all right now because I’m so proud of how they came out.

Episode 2: A Change of Plans
Good leaders have the knowledge necessary to keep things moving in the right direction. Great leaders have solid instincts and the ability to foster unwavering loyalty in their subordinates so that when troubles arise, the group pulls together and sails through. In this episode, troubles arise and Captain Dyllan Pike’s mettle is put to the test.

RELEASED: 2109: Black Sun Rising, the prequel logs

I’m VERY excited for this release because I’m enamored with the show as a whole, and also because I co-wrote the prequels that will be coming out over the next six months as promotion for the show that will start releasing next year. The only question is whether I can keep the other 5 (there may actually be another too, I just heard) episodes under wraps until they release officially… Just kidding, I’ll behave, but I won’t lie, I have a favorite episode and I want you all to hear it. For now, let me introduce you to

Episode 1: A Fair Start

The basic concept is that humans have figured out faster-than-light (FTL) travel. Now they’re going to use it to go to the nearest place known: Alpha Centauri. Hopefully, nothing goes wrong.

RELEASED: Who Goes There? — the story the movie The Thing was based on

Image borrowed from http://tinyurl.com/7jxyp37

This is one of my favorite projects to be involved with so far and I have been very, VERY eagerly awaiting it’s release. I’m proud of my work on it, the production value is good, and it’s free for you to listen to it, so there is no reason for you not to. Okay, if you don’t care for classic horror or have a strong aversion to the mention of blood, alien body posession or flamethrowers, this isn’t for you. For the rest of us: CLICK NOW!

As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, this is the story that became the movie The Thing. If you remember The Thing, my character is Childs — one that was very fun to voice in this project.

Please have a listen and pass the link on to as many people as possible. It’s my understanding that this is producer Clay Dugger’s first major venture for his amateur audio drama group – Must Be Nice Studios. It would be a huge coup for them and I would consider it a personal favor if this got spread far and wide. Besides, it’s just plain X-Files/Twilight Zone/drive-in fright feature type fun and you’re going to want to pass it along.

RELEASED: My reading of Certus Per Bellum on Escape Pod

I had the pleasure of narrating this interesting story about a near future world where lawsuits can be decided by battle, and instead of lawyers you hire champions. Personally, I think this should be an option now…

Certus per Bellum (Decided by War)
By S. Hutson Blount (http://www.shutsonblount.com/)

“It’s quiet outside,” Nohaile said, trying to find a comfortable way to sit in his armor suit. “Are you sure it’s started?”

“It’ll get plenty loud,” said the girl. She was armored only in a ratty sweatshirt and a patched bib coverall. She’d entered the bunker with a vest and some sensible-looking boots, but promptly removed them. Her bare feet made her look about twelve years old. “For right now,” she continued after some rapid two-thumb typing on her hand console, “we got time to kill.”
