I have a habit of taking parts that are either the stars of the show or die in one episode. That’s why playing Lt. Booth on Victoria: Empress of the Universe has been a treat. He doesn’t take days to record, but he gets to appear regularly, and I get to pretend I can believably portray a British accent. It’s a fun ride, and a very Burroughs-esque story. So if you’re into old-timey radio sci-fi, give Victoria a try.
If this wasn’t a Jeff Niles/Viktor Aurelius production, this would sound strange. But…well..it is…
It’s the late 19th century in America and Utah seems to be experiencing a bit of a vampire problem. My character is a frontier-era Bible salesman with a foot fetish and dim prospects for making it into a sequel.
I’ll leave it at that. You can get more information and listen to the audio drama here:
The characters from the Wizard of Oz, all modernized and set in Vegas and produced by the dark genius of The 4077th himself, Viktor Aurelius.
Yeah, you’re curious.
It’s gritty, so be warned. But if you can handle some of the strong stuff and really want to hear me whine like Rick Moranis getting waterboarded, check it out.
Victor’s at it again, and if you’ve listened to my work in his productions before, you know he does some high-quality audio production. If you haven’t listened before, you need to go back and listen to all of these outstanding episodes. Now. Do it now!
The synopsis for episode 4: The Empty Space Ship…
Massing in the Martian Desert are hundreds of Venusian soldiers having escaped from the wreckage of their Spaceship, Doctor Watson is still trying to deal with the loss of his friend Sherlock Holmes, while in a Canyon below the Martian Palace a forgotten Robot named Clancy will be thrust into a perilous adventure!
It’s steampunk from gifted 4077th producer Viktor Aurelius. That’s probably enough for most people, but in this case you get the added pleasure of hearing me scramble in desperation and scream things like, “Five seconds to Mars!”
The synopsis for this epoisode…
The Britannia arrives on Mars and its passengers and crew have already made enemies. The Martian Queen must try to bring about peace while trying to thwart an impending war between the races of Mars. And in the end… sacrifices must be made… and someone will die!
Come on now…tell me that’s not intriguing.
4077th producer Viktor Aurelius pulled me into his production Lilith’s Children last year for some audio fun, as you may remember. It was such a pleasure to work with Viktor and his production work is of such a high caliber that when he has a spot to fill in a production and he shoots me a message asking if I’ll do it, I generally hit him back with my lines before I even finish reading his email. Victoria! is one of those cases, and with a description like this:
After several attempts on Sherlock Holmes’ life; Dr. John Watson and the Ship Steward help him uncover a plot of epic proportions. New enemies and new allies arrive on the scene while perils and mysteries increase as the Britannia speeds toward Mars!
…who could resist a little listen?
