QFT: When Patents Attack!

Companies are a little silly with this garbage. Can you imagine having a great idea, patenting it just in case you might move on it some day, and then getting sued for more money than you will earn in your lifetime all so some company can take your patent and not use it? I’m a lover of most things Google, but they do this kind of stuff on a daily basis and it makes me ill. Personally, I think any time a big company is caught muscling-over an individual with a great idea, it’s board of directors needs to be prosecuted for extortion and if found guilty the company should be given to the victim. Of course, that would mean finding a way to split Disney to give it to about 30,000 people…

From the website linked above…

Why would a company rent an office in a tiny town in East Texas, put a nameplate on the door, and leave it completely empty for a year? The answer involves a controversial billionaire physicist in Seattle, a 40 pound cookbook, and a war waging right now, all across the software and tech industries.

By the way, because I can’t possibly recommend it enough, if you find this episode of TAL interesting, you really need to check out Rip: A Remix Manifesto (http://ripremix.com/). It’ll open your eyes a bit about copyright infringement.

Yeah, that’s great, but what does QFT mean?
